Property Tax Relif from the City of Chicago
The City of Chicago is providing $35 million in property tax relief grants. Chicago property owners with yearly household incomes of less than $200,000 may be eligible for $50 to $200 grants.
Applicants will need to show a photo ID and provide a signed affidavit confirming their household income and a copy of their current property tax bill; applications are available online at www.cityofchicago.org and at branch libraries and our district office.
Please don't forget that the deadline to appeal West Township property tax assessments with the Cook County Assessor's Office is December 30th. If you have any questions about your assessment, please call the Assessor's Office at (312) 443-7550.
