First love can be passionate, erratic, sometimes peculiar, and it rarely ends well. Bright and serious Alex has fallen hard for her first love—the infectious, extravagant, and beautiful Kiki. Alex and Kiki have a gentle, caring, and passionate relationship, but as two women in love, there are obstacles to overcome, including family, friends, living situations, and most notably Kiki’s brother, Sandu. Kiki and Sandu also share a love, but it is a forbidden bond, accompanied by Sandu’s irrational jealousy and fiery temper. In his debut feature film, director Tudor Giurgiu creates a love triangle that is complex and perplexing at times, but frankly takes on the complications of love while tackling the taboo.
